🧪 Day 59: Prioritizing Marketing Tactics with AI

Day 59 is here!

DAY 59 OF #100DAYSOFAI

Hi there 👋!!

Today you’ll be using AI to help make tactical marketing decisions that take into consideration your time, effort and resources.

Let’s build 🔨

Today’s Task📝

🧱 Project: Prioritizing Marketing Tactics with AI

⏲️ Estimated time: 30 minutes

🛠️ Tools: Your choice of AI assistant

Context 📄

Back on day 29, you learned how AI can be used to create high-level marketing strategies for your businesses and projects. In this lesson, you’ll be going a little more granular, and you’ll use AI to help you prioritize specific marketing tactics that you can execute that take into consideration key marketing components such as your time, effort, and available resources.

With so many tools, trends and platforms to consider in marketing, it can be difficult to know the best methods for promoting your campaigns and projects. This can lead to decision paralysis, which is then amplified if you’re working to strict deadlines or are working with reactive content.

Using AI as your copilot can be helpful in overcoming decision paralysis, allowing you to determine the most effective marketing tactics you can deploy based on critical factors such as your skills, time and available resources.

Let's Prep 🥗

Let's start by examining 8 essential elements in prioritizing marketing tactics. We’ll work these into an initial prompt in a moment.

  1. Campaign Goals and Objectives: What are you trying to achieve with this content or campaign? Are you looking to increase brand awareness, generate leads, drive sales, or something else? Your goals will significantly impact the types of tactics you choose.

  2. Targets or Measures of Success: How will you measure the success of your campaign? Are there specific targets in place?

  3. Target Audience: Who are you trying to reach with your marketing efforts? Understanding your target audience's demographics, interests, and online behavior is crucial in selecting the most effective tactics.

  4. Budget: How much money do you have available to allocate to this campaign? Your budget will play a major role in determining the scope and scale of your marketing efforts.

  5. Deadlines: How much time do you have to plan and execute? Your deadlines will influence the types of tactics you can realistically implement.

  6. Available Resources: What resources do you have at your disposal, such as personnel, technology, and tools? This will impact the types of tactics you can execute in-house versus those that may require outsourcing.

  7. Current Skills and Expertise: What marketing skills and expertise do you or your team possess? It's important to focus on tactics that you can execute effectively with your existing skillset.

  8. Brand Identity and Messaging: Your marketing tactics should align with your overall brand identity and messaging to ensure consistency and reinforce your brand image.

Take these elements above and work through each one to create your initial prompt. Remember to use the PREP framework to make your prompt as explicit as possible. Replace the information in brackets with the information that’s unique to your campaign, project or content.

For example:

Please act as an expert marketing strategist. Your role is to help me prioritize the most effective marketing tactics based on the information I give you related to my [campaign~content~project]. I’m going to first give you the information that I know is critical in helping me to prioritize. I then want you to ask me up to 20 questions based on this information to help me produce a prioritized list of marketing tactics that I can execute. My [campaign~content~project] is [describe your campaign, content or project].

  • [Enter information related to your budget]

  • [Enter information related to your deadlines]

Time to Cook 👩‍🍳

1️⃣ Think of an example piece of content, a campaign or a project you’ve recently created where you could have used some help in prioritizing marketing tactics. Or perhaps you could prepare a list of marketing tactics for something you’re about to create. Work this example into the prompt template above.

Did you get stuck with marketing distribution for your Generalist World or Permissionless missions? If so, those are also some great examples to use for today’s lesson.

2️⃣ Enter the prompt above into your AI assistant, filling in the information that’s in the brackets. Your AI assistant should then ask you up to 20 questions based on the information you enter to help prioritize the most effective marketing tactics for you to execute.
